Cirrus Lands On Utah Highway After Engine Failure

On Feb. 18, an SR22T made a successful emergency landing on a Utah highway after suffering an engine failure. The aircraft had left Phoenix and was enroute to Ogden-Hinckley airport (OGD), ~30 miles north of Salt Lake City when the failure occurred. The pilot had hoped to make it to South Valley Regional airport (U42) which is 7 miles SW of SLC, but quickly realized they weren't going to make it. The pilot landed safely on Rt. 154 which runs on the west side of Salt Lake City. No injuries were reported.
