United Flight Makes Emergency Return After Battery Fire in Cabin

On Feb. 7, United flight UAL 2664 had just departed San Diego (SAN) for Newark (EWR) when a passenger's external battery caught fire in first class. The flight made an emergency return to San Diego & was met by fire personnel upon arrival. UAL 2664 was only airborne for ~10 minutes before the fire occurred. San Diego Fire Department said 4 passengers were transported for their injuries.
